Piraeus Insurance

Overview

Piraeus Bank sells insurance it does not underwrite. I designed how customers buy it, in the app and online.

Design process

Insurance and banking have compliance rules you cannot design away. Every flow had to carry everything the bank and each insurer are required to ask. I mapped them, then worked on order and wording so the process felt simple even though nothing could be cut.

The whole flow in Figma, phone frames connected across the board, with the identification and payment stages labelled
Various insurance products

Several insurers sell through the bank: phone cover, pet cover, cyber cover and more. Each one comes from a different insurer with its own rules, so each needed its own flow while still feeling like the same app.

Choosing a category of insurance, each one a card with its own illustration - health, personal items, home
Pending offers listed - two phones by model and IMEI, each with its price and the next step to take
A product page: the bank explains why this one is being suggested, then what it covers, its length and how it renews
Three steps of the device identification walkthrough, yellow screens with a phone drawn inside each one
The IMEI walkthrough carousel closer in - dialling the code, the device information sheet appearing, and closing it again
The screen check: hold the phone up to a mirror and take three photographs, with a tip about keeping other faces out
The offer with its consents, shown twice - once with every box empty and once with them all ticked
A cyber cover product page, the same layout as the others
A pet cover product page, priced per cat or dog, with the microchip requirement in the small print
Challenge

Piraeus cannot sell insurance on its own, and the partners it needs run old systems with workflows that do not bend.

Focus on You

Focus on You is the one product here that is already live, and it is the same purchase built twice: one continuous flow in the app, a stepped form on e-banking. Same product, same legal wording, two different shapes.

A health cover product page from a different insurer, with the plan described and its annual cost
The insured person's details filled in - name, father's name, nationality, address, gender and date of birth
The same product on the bank website, inside the full navigation, with the consent to proceed at the bottom
The payment step on the website: a four-part stepper, the final price, and the account it will be taken from
Complexity

Every screen had to satisfy three sides at once: the bank's sales targets, each insurer's fixed process, and what we could build.
